ZURKO RESEARCH
Hand in hand with manufacturers
All cosmetic products on the European market are governed by European Union (EU) legislation, specifically by Regulation number 1223/2009 on Cosmetic Products.
At a national level, each EU country has its own specific authority for managing and regulating the safety of these types of products. In Spain, we have the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS), the organization that represents Spain in the regulatory and scientific-technical Groups and Committees of the European Council and European Commission with regards to cosmetics.
At Zurko Research we are at the service of manufacturers, committed to the safety and efficacy of their products. We support them with cosmetics regulations and with choosing advertising claims backed by studies carried out in accordance with European Commission guidelines.
Borderline Products
At Zurko Research we also evaluate so-called borderline products. These are products that may be governed by more than one regulation. Apart from the current cosmetics regulation, these also include the regulation of:
- Biocidal products
- Medical devices
- Medications
- and even certain toys
At Zurko Research we help our clients position their products, covering everything from regulatory frameworks to the applicable tests. We also offer personalized advice on product claims. This is all done in compliance with our quality standards and is based on the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
